Arctic LNG 2
The project involves the construction of three LNG production trains with a total capacity of 19.8 million tons per year of liquefied natural gas (LNG) and up to 1.6 million tons per year of stable gas condensate. It is being implemented using an innovative gravity-based structure (GBS) concept, which eliminates the need for on-site LNG plant construction and significantly reduces environmental impact. Thanks to the Arctic climate and the use of cutting-edge energy efficiency technologies, greenhouse gas emissions per ton of LNG produced will be more than 30% lower than the industry average. A specialized fleet of LNG carriers, built to transport products from Arctic LNG 2, will use LNG as fuel – one of the cleanest marine fuel types available.
